Sherry’s Ark will partner with existing nonprofit organizations who help take disenfranchised individuals off the street and get them properly cared for, as well as those designed to help homeless individuals secure permanent housing. Each Ark will fit as many residents as the land allows.
Each potential Sherry’s Ark resident will undergo a background check through the courts system, to ensure everyone will not endanger other Ark members. Furthermore, qualifying individuals will undergo a ninety-day minimum detox program working with existing board-certified and accredited programs.
Sherry’s Ark will strive to find the best possible virgin (untouched) land within 30 miles of a hospital. The location of each Ark will depend on these conditions as well as various local building permits, water availability, and suitability for each Ark’s future trade.
The simplest things make all the difference in the lives of those less fortunate. In addition to permanent housing and trade education, Sherry’s Ark will offer their residents organic, nutritious food and clean, new clothing.
This depends on the size of the Ark. A community of 20 acres costs roughly 10 million dollars, including land, houses, and everything involved with building these cities from the ground up. Sherry’s Ark will call upon donors, Federal, private and state-level grants, and utilize the profits from the early Arks to build future communities. However, we must start with the first as our pilot program.
